Education

The Education Department provides professional training for the employees of the IHBT and participates in the organization of internships for external applicants at all levels of education, namely for students of secondary medical schools, medical students, doctoral students, and health professionals in preparation for specialization training.

 

IHBT has training programmes approved by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic in the field of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine (for physicians) and in the field of Clinical Haematology and Transfusion Service for laboratory professionals (OPLM) and for medical laboratory technicians. In these fields, it is classified as a teaching unit of the Subdepartment of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine of the IPVZ with a higher level of accreditation. The Head of the Subdepartment of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine is Prof. MUDr. Jaroslav Čermák, CSc., who is also the guarantor for postgraduate medical education in Haematology and Transfusion Medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University. The Subdepartment is involved in education in haematology and transfusion medicine also in other medical and non-medical disciplines where haematology is part of the educational programme. It also has an accredited educational programme for general nurses, namely for the field of nursing care in oncology and haemato-oncology.
