Department of Genomics

The Department of Genomics is focused on the routine monitoring of prognostic markers in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and related hematological diseases.

We perform the detection of mutations in NPM1, CEBPA and TP53 genes. Further, we measure the gene expression levels of WT1, BAALC, PRAME and mutated NPM1 in order to monitor minimal residual disease. Equally important are our research activities aimed at understanding the development and evolution of these diseases, and the identification of new sensitive molecular markers that may be used in clinical diagnostics to improve patient care.
