Internships at ÚHKT

The Education Department provides internships for external applicants at all levels of education (students from secondary and higher education institutions, doctoral candidates, healthcare professionals, and doctors preparing for specialized training, as well as international applicants).

Procedure for Internship Applicants:

  1. The applicant arranges a date with the head of the department where they wish to undertake the internship. For internships in multiple departments (as part of specialized training for university doctors or other specialized workers), the date is arranged with the education officer.

  2. If the applicant is self-paying, they are required to obtain liability insurance for the duration of the internship and send the confirmation/contract to the education department.

  3. The applicant sends the completed Application for Internship at ÚHKT to the Deputy Director of Education & copies the Education Secretariat (dana.mikulenkova@uhkt.cz and marta.bendova@uhkt.cz) no later than four weeks before the start of the internship. For inquiries, call 221 977 206.

    • Note on the application: The statutory representative is usually the director of the healthcare facility, a member of the board of directors in a joint-stock company, or a managing director in a limited liability company. However, it can also be a person authorized for this act. If the contract is signed by an authorized person, your employer must provide authorization for this person with the contract. The applicant is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided in the application.

  4. The education officer contacts the head of the relevant department/section (or their deputy) where the internship will take place and verifies whether the internship is possible in the requested term.

  5. Based on the internship application, the education officer prepares the contract and sends it to the applicant via email.

  6. The applicant reviews the contract, fills in their personal details, and sends it back to the education department by email for printing. ÚHKT sends the signed contract to the applicant, who ensures it is signed, stamped, the internship fee is paid, and one original is sent back to the education department.

  7. On the first day of the internship, the applicant arrives at 8:00 AM at the education department (Building B, 4th floor, room number 427 C), where they present proof of payment for the internship fee (a copy of the account statement) or confirmation of liability insurance for professional damage.

They will receive initial information, be informed in writing about general occupational health and safety principles, fire protection, and data protection, receive locker keys, an internship schedule form (class book) where all trainers confirm the number of hours of their training, and a name tag, which must be worn visibly throughout the internship. After the internship, the name tag, keys, and class book are returned to the education department.
