IHBT Support team

The support team includes the following qualified staff: psychologists, chaplain, social workers, doctors, nurses.

What we offer

  • help to navigate a new life situation, help to find anything that helps
  • support for the sick person in communication with his/her loved ones, support for people close to him/her, help with practical financial, social and other problems
  • taking care of physical symptoms such as pain and others, helping to coordinate follow-up care at home or in another health care facility

Psychologists

offers a space to talk about the various needs and difficulties that illness brings with it; common topics include helping to find an appropriate coping strategy for illness, treatment and hospital stay, helping to navigate a crisis situation, working through difficult thoughts, or advice on communicating with loved ones about illness, including children. Offers long-term support during inpatient and outpatient treatment.

Kateřina Rodná, psychologist

Hospital chaplain

Offers a sensitive presence in times of sudden stress as well as long-term human support during and after treatment. He or she can help in finding ways to cope with a challenging situation and provides support in communicating with loved ones. If desired, the chaplain also provides purely spiritual care by talking about spiritual issues, praying, or providing an appropriate ritual (e.g., sacramental service). Our chaplain respects each person's personal beliefs and is committed to everyone, regardless of religion.

Matěj Hájek, chaplain

Social worker

will answer questions about social assistance, the use of benefits to which you are entitled during periods of illness. She not only provides basic advice and orientation in the social field, but also helps to arrange care services or Home Care. It offers advice on the wider practicalities that arise during a hospital stay and in the recovery period after hospitalisation.

Alice Šimková, social worker

Doctors

are trained in hematology in addition to supportive care and therefore have a very good knowledge of the treatment of possible symptoms, such as pain and others, and can translate complicated terminology into common language.

Michal Kouba, physician

have many years of experience working in haematology, work together with doctors, coordinate the activities of the Support Team, and can accompany you to both inpatient stations and outpatient clinics.
