Outpatient Department and Day Hospital

The IHBT Outpatient Department performs specialist examination of patients requested by other establishments and provides complex medical care to patients who do not need admission to inpatient care.

It especially caters for patients before and after the transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells, those who have hematologic malignancies, congenital and acquired bleeding conditions, serious red blood (erythron) system disorders, and those whose examination is unobtainable in another healthcare establishment.

The Outpatient Department also provides follow-up care to patients who spent some time in inpatient parts of the IHBT, and their health condition has deteriorated. The Day Hospital with eleven beds and three separate boxes often serves for this purpose.

All the beds can be connected to monitoring equipment, including the supply of oxygen and pressurized air. Barrier-free entrances and sanitary facilities for patients are commonplace.

The Day Hospital facilitates the administration of transfusions, infusions, cytostatic treatment and other complex medical procedures to patients who can go back home for the night. Thus, given a growing number of patients, the importance of the “day-care hospital” is very high.
