Department of Immunology

The main topics of our research include the study of immune aspects of malignant diseases, viral infections during immunosuppression accompanying the transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells and the development of immunotherapeutic procedures for patients with hematological malignancies. Our effort is also directed toward studying relations between human papilloma- and polyomaviruses and the development of cancer. Part of the Department of Immunology is the National Reference Laboratory for Papillomaviruses and Polyomaviruses.
